Welcome to the Pretty Much Weekly, where I bring you the best in last week’s news that hasn’t already been shared on our Facebook page. And today I bring you new shows, casting announcements and how you can get yourself a PS4 controller for FREE.
The streaming wars continue
Netflix has struck a multi-year deal with Nickelodeon, which means we will be getting a few years of NEW Nickelodeon movies and TV shows. All of them are set to be about existing Nickelodeon characters.
One of these shows is confirmed to be a Spongebob Squarepants spin-off which makes Squidward the main character!
On the topic of Spongebob Squarepants, just in case you haven’t seen the trailer for the new movie, here’s a reason why you should see it:
Joker will pass the $1 billion dollar mark
Last week, Joker surpassed Deadpool 2 as the highest grossing R-rated film in history, and is soon to make history again! It’s expected to reach the 1 billion dollar mark today and will be the first ever R-rated film to do so!
At the time this article was published, Joker is sitting at $999.1 million in profits.
New people join The Eternals, Batman, and the Uncharted movie
After originally being cast to play Nathan Drake in the cursed Uncharted movie, Mark Wahlberg is now set to play Sully, Drake’s older mentor friend. And Andy Serkis has been officially confirmed to be Alfred in Matt Reeve’s Batman movie.
Though not an actor, Ramin Djawadi, the composer for Game of Thrones, is now on board Marvel’s The Eternals! We can definitely expect some great stuff to come out of this film!

Check out @PlayStationNZ’s instagram story every hour between 8am and 1pm to get the code and open the poster so you can #UnlockYourColour!
And Auckland’s not the only one in on the fun. The campaign will be run in Wellington and Christchurch at a later date.
