E3 2018: Ubisoft Conference Highlights

Articles gamingnews Jaz news Slider

Ubisoft’s conference started off with a bang. To announce a game like Just Dance 2019, I have learned that you don’t need to have someone stand on a stage and say some words. A dancing panda and a lot of colourful costumes will work just fine, if not better. It was a great start and I was pumped for what was to come!

Beyond Good and Evil 2

A super cool new trailer was revealed, with a HUGE appearance of JADE! Okay, I might have just spoiled the trailer for you, but you should still watch it! It’s awesome! You can play the game solo or in co-op with friends. But the biggest reveal (yes, bigger than Jade!) is that with the Space Monkey Program, the studio is asking the community to collaborate on the game, be you a writer, musician, artist, whatever! Check out this article here for more!

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed helped me learn how to spell assassin, and now it’s going to teach me how to spell odyssey. Eventually. Unfortunately this reveal was not the big surprise Ubisoft was hoping it to be (dammit keychain!). But it looks to continue down the RPG path, but this time in Ancient Greece! But that’s not the most exciting thing they revealed! Assassin’s Creed Odyssey could be in your games library on October 5th!

The Division 2

The Division 2 was announced at the Microsoft briefing, but here we got another look at the story. I was a big fan of the first Division, but as a solo player, there wasn’t much to keep drawing me back to game. What is cool is the fact that all the Year One episodes will be free for everyone! Now, that’s cool! And for the team players, the introduction of RAIDS!  Coming out June 26th!

Mario + Rabbids DLC: Donkey Kong Adventure!

DLC for the surprisingly fun Switch game Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Donkey Kong Adventure! The trailer was accompanied by an exciting live orchestra, which was very cool.

Skull and Bones

The Black Flag spin-off game Skull and Bones showed off new gameplay and mechanics. You can customise your ships with cannons and mortars and the like. If you’re facing a particularly hard enemy, you can ask other players to come join in on the fight, but there’s every chance they may double cross you and take the rewards for themselves…! It’s set to come out sometime next year and you can sign up for a chance to play it early.

Elijah Wood came on stage and gave us a new trailer to look at, one that actually gives us a look at the game. Whether there will be any live action footage in the actual game, I don’t know, but there’s CGI stuff in the trailer as well as real actors. We learned that this is a game about entering the realm of someone else’s counsiousness. And for some unknown reason, we’re heading into a mind that has been corrupted. It looks like the kind of creepy I might just be able to deal with! We’re looking forward to this one!

Starlink: Battle for Atlas

Whenever I look at this game I see flashes of No Man’s Sky, except that it has characters and a story. Anyway, big news, we’ve got a release date of October 16th and as a nice little twist, you could be playing as Starfox! WHAT?! The Nintendo and Ubisoft colabs keep coming!
