In a shock announcement at their E3 conference, Ubisoft has stated that in the next Assassin’s Creed you’ll be able to choose your character’s gender. You can choose to play from one of two set characters, either Alexios or Kassandra. This will come as welcome news for many fans of the series who have been asking for a female playable lead for a long time.
While Assassin’s Creed Syndicate did have a female playable character, Evie, the game would regularly switch to her brother Jacob. In the DLC, Assassins Creed III: Liberation, the playable protagonist was Aveline de Grandpré, an African-French female Assassin. But Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be the first main game in the series where you can play as a female protagonist for the entire game.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set in Ancient Greece. The open world looks absolutely stunning with colossal statues dotting the landscape.
The release date is October 5th of this year on PC, PS4 and Xbox One so not long to wait!
